About this Lodge

Corinthian Lodge meets 4 times a year, the 2nd Wednesday in February and June, the 4th Wednesday in August and the Installation Meeting on the 2nd Wednesday in November.

The Lodge is one of the oldest in the Province, having started meeting in various public houses in Bolton in 1797 before moving to its current location in Oldham in 2015.

The main reason for the move, was the desire of a number of Oldham Brethren to re establish Freemasonry back in their own Town Centre which had been lost due to the closure of the Oldham Masonic Hall in 2004. All the 19 current members are experienced Freemasons who are or were members of other Lodges but wanted to come together for the following reasons.

  1. To preserve and continue to contribute to the history of one of the Provinces oldest Lodges.
  2. To promote and grow Freemasonry in the town centre of Oldham
  3. To enjoy an enhanced social board with restaurant quality dining.

Unfortunately, the Covid 19 Pandemic and subsequent lockdown restrictions forced the closure of the original venue, but when restrictions are lifted, arrangements have been made to meet at Valentinos Restaurant, Retiro Street, Oldham.

Due to the limited space available, both for privacy in meeting and dining, it is the policy of the Lodge to keep membership to around the 20 mark to allow for the attendance of 10 to 15 visitors to further enhance the overall enjoyment of our gatherings.

Additional social functions are held to include non masons in order to promote the Lodge and raise funds for charitable purposes.

As we are not charged any rental or room hire, annual subscriptions are currently £110 which merely cover Annual Dues with a small amount set aside for any contingencies.
